Staples Print a complete marketplace that helps every aspect of a business, including design, printing, marketing, shipping and tech services, available at all 305 Staples locations across Canada and online at staplesprint.ca.

Spotlight

A space for community members, entrepreneurs, educators and students to meet, share ideas and learn. Spotlight features a Speaker Series with weekly guest speakers, entrepreneurial networking events, workshops and product demonstrations.

Staples Canada’s environmental initiatives allow the business to operate in a sustainable manner – from in-store recycling services for customers to taking action within internal operations to green product sourcing.

Staples Canada promotes a number of products and programs that support its goals to be a part of a greener future, including:

Free In-Store Recycling Services for Customers

Staples Canada is committed to recycling and diverting materials from the waste stream. Customers can recycle several items at Staples Canada stores across Canada These items include technology products), ink and toner cartridges, mobile phones, personal electronics and rechargeable batteries. (Not available at all locations, please contact your local store to confirm what recycling services are available)

Battery Recycling Program

Staples Canada partners with Call2Recycle to collect used batteries (rechargeable and alkaline) from all store locations and its Home Office for recycling. The partnership began in 2004 and to date over 1 million kilograms of used household batteries have been collected and safely recycled through the program.

School Ink Recycling Program

Every year 300 million ink cartridges end up in North American landfills. Staples Canada encourages schools across the country to participate in its School Ink Recycling Program by signing up to receive a free ink cartridge collection bin. Electronics Recycling

Staples Canada and its national electronics recycling partnere Cycle Solutions take back end-of-life electronics at almost all of its retail locations (excluding stores in Calgary, Alberta). Recyclable items accepted include cell phones, computers, computer parts and more. To date, Staples Canada has collected 20.5 million kilograms of e-waste for recycling through its electronics recycling program.

Staples Canada is an authorized e-waste provider site through the Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA) nationally.

Writing Instruments

In 2012, Staples Canada launched a writing instrument recycling program in partnership with Terracycle. The program encourages customers to drop off used writing instruments, such as pens, pencils, markers and highlighters at local stores, which are then shipped to Terracycle for recycling.

Shredding

Staples Canada has partnered with Iron Mountain to offer its customers a secure paper shredding service. This allows you to safely and cost effectively destroy unnecessary sensitive paper documents.

With our shredding service, we are as committed to protecting the environment as we are to protecting your privacy. That's why all shredded materials are recycled to minimize waste, pollution and impact on our natural resources.

Staples Canada is the second largest retail supporter of Bullfrog Power’s green energy

The Working and Learning Company’s Staples Studio co-working locations, Solutionshop and production centres, are bullfrogpowered® with 100% clean, renewable electricity. Through this partnership with Bullfrog Power, Staples Canada is reducing its environmental impact and helping to support the development of Bullfrog Power’s green energy projects in Canada. Staples Superpower your School Contest

Staples Canada in collaboration with EcoKids and Earth Day Canada, provides 10 exceptional schools with $20,000 in new technology to recognize their eco stewardship and further their environmental and educational work.
