The Kids Are Back in School: 5 Tips To Help Them Stay on Track

School is back and the kids are back in the swing of things with busy school schedules and after school activities. Sometimes it can be quite difficult to help them get back on track after a 2 month summer break, so here are some tips to help them stay on track.

1. Plan Ahead

Having a week long schedule on the fridge, of what the kids have to do during the week will definitely help them to stay on track. Everyday before the day begins, the whole family can look at what needs to be done for that particular day to ensure everyone is on track, to do what needs to get done for that day. Whether it’s homework that is due or after school activities on a particular day, having a visible calendar, will help the family on a whole to stay organized.

2. Prepare Healthy Meals at Home

Nothing beats a home cooked meal. Although it takes time to cook, it is much healthier than buying junk food. Creating a meal plan for the week can help make things easier when thinking of different meals to cook. During the week, quick meals are the way to go, since there is often not much time to cook. On weekends the family can come together and cook meals together and come up with the next weeks meal plan. The kids can also help come up with recipe’s on different meals to make.

3. Exercise

Have you ever tried waking your kids up to music and having them do a 5-10 minute quick work out before heading off to school? If your kids don’t get much exercise at school, you may want to consider doing some exercises in the morning with them. Exercise does wonders for the brain.

4. Getting Enough Sleep

Getting enough sleep is crucial to a child’s development. The summer just ended and getting the kids to go to bed early might be a bit difficult, especially if they got use to going to bed late during their summer break. Having the kids go to bed and wake up at the same time every day will definitely help their bodies adjust to being back in school.

5. Vitamins

Taking a multivitamin daily can help kids to get all of the required nutrients their bodies need to function at their highest level. Especially if they are not getting enough nutrients from the food they are eating.

There are a variety of ways to get the kids to stay on track. Whatever they learn now, will only prepare them for the future. Helping them to stay organized will assist them greatly as they get older and gain more responsibilities.
