5 Telltale Signs You Should Be an Entrepreneur

Being an entrepreneur takes more than big ideas. A true entrepreneur is rare—it’s someone who possesses a unique blend of skills and characteristics that enable them to overcome the odds stacked against them and go after their dreams.

The question is, do you have the traits needed to succeed in the business world? Here are five telltale signs that you possess the elusive ‘E-factor’.

1. You’re always working—and that’s how you like it
Entrepreneurs are inherently proactive, and know that if something really needs to get done, they should do it themselves. They’re ‘doers’, not thinkers, and tend to have high standards.

2. Uncertainty doesn’t phase you
Entrepreneurs thrive on uncertainty and have the ability to remain calm throughout tough times. Sometimes things go wrong in business, but when you’re at the helm of a company and making all the decisions, it’s essential to keep your cool in any given situation. If this sounds familiar, consider it a surefire sign that entrepreneurship could be right for you.

3. You view everything as an opportunity
Entrepreneurs realize that every event or situation has the potential to become a business opportunity, and they’re constantly generating new and innovative ideas. They have the ability to look at everything around them and focus it toward their goals in an effort to improve their business. They’re inherently creative and possess the ability to turn ideas into profits.

4. You’re a risk-taker
A true entrepreneur doesn’t ask questions about whether or not they’ll succeed—they truly believe they will. They exude this confidence in all aspects of life, and as a result, they’re never afraid to take risks due to their unblinding faith that ultimately they will succeed. But remember: there’s a big difference between a risk and a calculated risk. Aim for the latter.

5. You’re full of passion
Passion is perhaps the most important trait of successful entrepreneurs. They genuinely love their job and are willing to put in those extra hours to make their business grow. They derive a genuine sense of pleasure from their work that goes way beyond just profit. They’re also natural leaders with the ability to motivate, inspire and influence those around them.

Very few people are fortunate enough to be born with all of these traits, but the good news is that they can be learned. Nowadays there are articles, webinars, seminars and books you can use to educate yourself and awaken your inner entrepreneur. So what are you waiting for?
