Make a move that benefits the environment, and your life…

There are certain moments in the year that lend themselves well to introspection and self-evaluation. Preparing for a move is one such moment.

As you get ready for your big move, start by considering these questions:

- Are you holding on to supplies, furniture, tools, tech or other stuff that’s not being used?
- Do you have too much of one product category or area?
- Does any of your stuff belong to a chapter in your life that has closed?
- Are you finding yourself throwing stuff into the general trash? Have you thought about whether or not these items can be recycled?

Remember: before throwing something out, it’s important to consider if it can be recycled!

Here’s an overview of what you can recycle – some of them may surprise you:

- Writing instruments, including pens, pencils, markers and highlighters.
- Ink and toner cartridges.
- Cardboard, paper, shredding, pallets, and in several pilot locations, shrink wrap, cans, glass and plastics.
- Electronic devices like computers, laptops, cameras, printers, scanners and multi-function devices, screens, phones, as well as video and gaming systems.

It’s through little acts – applied regularly – that we can make the world a greener place.
